I am sure this has been asked a hundred times, but can someone point me
to a website that has a searchable archive of this newsgroup? I posted
something last year (I think)...either here or on
rec.aviation.owning...dealing with considering buying my next airplane.
There were some really great posts in the thread that I want to review.

How about http://groups-beta.google.com/group/rec.aviation.ifr ? Most
newsgroups are archived by Google.
